Scriba.AI ("Scriba", "we", "our", or "us") is a voice transcription and summarization application developed by Ellorra AI, LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Voice Recordings: Audio captured through the app's recording feature. All recordings are processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Transcripts: Text generated from your voice recordings. Stored locally on your device only.
• Calendar Data: If you grant calendar access, Scriba can read your calendar events to link transcripts with meetings. This data is accessed locally and is not transmitted externally.
• API Keys: If you choose to use AI features (summarization, auto-complete), you provide your own API keys for services like Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini). These keys are stored securely on your device.

Information Collected Automatically

• App Analytics: We may collect anonymized usage statistics through Apple's App Analytics to understand app performance and improve user experience. This does not include any transcript content or personal data.
• Crash Reports: If the app crashes, anonymous diagnostic information may be sent to help us fix bugs. This does not include your recordings or transcripts.

How We Use Information

The information processed by Scriba is used exclusively to provide app functionality:

• Converting speech to text (on-device)
• Generating AI summaries (via your chosen AI provider, using your API keys)
• Linking transcripts to calendar events (on-device)
• Enabling search across your transcripts (on-device)
• Improving app stability and performance

We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Use your transcripts for advertising
• Train AI models on your data
• Share your content with other users

Third-Party Services

Scriba integrates with third-party AI services for optional features. When you use these features, your transcript content is sent to these services:

AI Summarization & Auto-Complete

• Anthropic: Used for Claude-powered summaries and completions. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• Google: Used for Gemini-powered summaries and completions. Google Privacy Policy

These services receive only the transcript content you explicitly choose to summarize or analyze. They are accessed using your own API keys, meaning your usage is subject to your own agreements with these providers.

On-Device AI

Scriba also supports on-device AI processing through Apple's Foundation Models framework. When using on-device AI, no data leaves your device.

Advertising

Scriba uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain device information for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. Google Ads Privacy

Data Storage & Security

• Local Storage: All recordings, transcripts, and summaries are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms.
• API Key Security: Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption.
• No Cloud Sync: Scriba does not sync your data to any cloud service. If you delete the app, your data is permanently deleted.
• Device Backup: Your Scriba data may be included in iOS device backups (iCloud or local), depending on your backup settings.

Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

• Access: All your data is stored on your device and accessible within the app.
• Deletion: You can delete individual transcripts or all app data at any time.
• Permissions: You can revoke microphone, calendar, or speech recognition permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
• AI Features: AI summarization is optional. You can use Scriba without connecting any AI services.
• Ad Preferences: You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Children's Privacy

Scriba is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
