Lectures.AI ("Lectures", "we", "our", or "us") is an AI-powered study companion application developed by Ellorra AI, LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Lecture Recordings: Audio captured through the app's recording feature. All recordings are processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Transcripts: Text generated from your lecture recordings. Stored locally on your device only.
• Study Materials: Flashcards, quizzes, summaries, and course organization data are all stored locally on your device.
• API Keys: If you choose to use AI features (summarization, flashcard generation, quiz creation), you provide your own API keys for services like Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini). These keys are stored securely on your device.

Information Collected Automatically

• App Analytics: We may collect anonymized usage statistics through Apple's App Analytics to understand app performance and improve user experience. This does not include any transcript content, study materials, or personal data.
• Crash Reports: If the app crashes, anonymous diagnostic information may be sent to help us fix bugs. This does not include your recordings, transcripts, or study materials.

How We Use Information

The information processed by Lectures.AI is used exclusively to provide app functionality:

• Converting lecture audio to text (on-device)
• Generating AI summaries (via your chosen AI provider, using your API keys)
• Creating flashcards from your transcripts (via AI or on-device)
• Generating quizzes to test your knowledge (via AI or on-device)
• Organizing lectures into courses (on-device)
• Improving app stability and performance

We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Use your study materials for advertising
• Train AI models on your data
• Share your content with other users

Third-Party Services

Lectures.AI integrates with third-party AI services for optional features. When you use these features, your transcript content is sent to these services:

AI Features (Summaries, Flashcards, Quizzes)

• Apple Foundation Models: On-device AI processing for summaries, flashcards, and quizzes. No data leaves your device when using Apple Foundation Models.
• Anthropic: Used for Claude-powered AI features. Anthropic Privacy Policy

These services receive only the transcript content you explicitly choose to process. They are accessed using your own API keys, meaning your usage is subject to your own agreements with these providers.

Advertising

Lectures.AI uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain device information for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. Google Ads Privacy

Data Storage & Security

• Local Storage: All recordings, transcripts, flashcards, quizzes, and summaries are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms.
• API Key Security: Your API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption.
• No Cloud Sync: Lectures.AI does not sync your data to any cloud service. If you delete the app, your data is permanently deleted.
• Device Backup: Your Lectures.AI data may be included in iOS device backups (iCloud or local), depending on your backup settings.

Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

• Access: All your data is stored on your device and accessible within the app.
• Deletion: You can delete individual lectures, courses, or all app data at any time.
• Permissions: You can revoke microphone or speech recognition permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
• AI Features: AI-powered features are optional. You can use Lectures.AI without connecting any AI services.
• Ad Preferences: You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Children's Privacy

Lectures.AI is designed for students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. All data is stored locally on the device and is not transmitted to our servers. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
